Youth softball program operates from March to July Registration begins January 1st
Age Requirement: Age as of January 1, 2022
- 8u League: Girls 8 years of age and under / $85 per player
- 10u League: Girls 10 years of age and under / $85 per player
- 12u League: Girls 12 years of age and under / $85 per player
- 14u League: Girls 14 years of age and under / $85 per player
- 16u League: Girls 16 years of age and under / $85 per player
- 18u League: Girls 18 years of age and under / $85 per player
Our softball program plays in the North East Augusta Baseball (NEA) which is Cal Ripkin sanctioned, a division of Babe Ruth Baseball, and adheres to the rules as such, in addition to amended North East Augusta rules for that year.
Teams
- Number of teams based on number of players.
- First come first serve, the VCA cannot guarantee placement for every player.
Practices
Practices will be 2 per week, including weekends, until games start. Practices will be 2 hours. Once games start, coaches may schedule additional practices on available fields. Practices will be held at Verona Elementary School.
Games
Game schedules are based on number of teams and created by the NEA. Games will be played on week nights and weekends. Week night games usually will start at 6:00pm and weekends games could start as early and 9:00am, There may be an occasional Sunday game but will not start before 1:00pm. Home games will be played at Verona Elementary School. Away games may be played and any Augusta County public school and/or any Augusta County facility. Games usually begin in March and run through June.
Cancellations
Practices and games on weekdays will automatically be postponed in Augusta County Public Schools are closed or dismissed early for inclement weather. Cancelled games may or may not be rescheduled due to time constraints, facility use conflicts, or other reasons.
Uniforms
A t-shirt and visor will be provided, participants must provide personal shoes, pants, bat, helmet, mask, royal blue socks and glove. Coaches will let players know what color pants to get.
